Microsoft & Yahoo Join Forces To Compete With Google.

Reports out in the world say that Microsoft and Yahoo have joined into an Internet search partnership, finally setting the stage for the rivals to make an all-out assault against the dominance of Google Inc. The 10 year deal gives Microsoft access to the Internet’s second largest search engine audience. In addition the deal will also allow Microsoft to introduce it’s recently upgraded search engine, called Bing. Taking over the search responsibilities Yahoo’s highly trafficked site gives Microsoft a better chance to convert Web surfers. In return for handing over the keys to its search engine, Yahoo will get to keep 88% of the revenue from all search ad sales for the first five years of the deal. Wow! Almost a monopoly.

Hackers Form On Government!

It’s been reported that over the 4th Of July weekend, numerous government agency web sites which included The Treasury Department, Secret Service, Federal Trade Commission and Transportation Department were all under cyber attacks. A similar attack also happened in South Korea, knocking out many government web sites such as the presidential Blue House, the Defense Ministry, the National Assembly, Shihan Bank, Korea Exchange Bank and top Internet portal Naver. U.S. officials refused to discuss details of the attacks. Amy Kudwa, spokeswoman for the Homeland Security Department said the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team issued a notice to federal departments and other partner organizations and “advised them of steps to take to help mitigate against such attacks.” This has been called a sophisticated attack and unusually lengthy, considering they also attacked the agency that’s responsible for fighting cyber crime!! The first suspect is North Korea.

U.S. Secret Nuclear Info, Posted On The Net

Just days after President Barack Obama’s speech on Cybersecurity, and the fact that I posted a story this past week on the proposed “Cybersecurity Act Of 2009”.  It seems the Government “accidentally” released a 266 page report over the Internet specifically detailing locations of nuclear installations, where our Uranium is stockpiled etc..  Again, I am a natural skeptic, I don’t believe in coincidence and timing is so critical. Whenever the government “proposes”  one of these “Acts” they usually cause an incident to validate it.

The Web Can Be Shutdown!

The Web Can Be Shutdown!

This new proposal intends to give the President the power to shut down the Internet in case of emergency. Of course only he will determine whether there is an emergency. This past Wednesday Senators John Rockefeller (D-W Va.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) introduced a bill to start the Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor, an arm of the Executive Branch that would have the power to monitor and control Internet traffic to protect against threats to critical cyber infrastructure.  “All In The Interest Of National Security”,watch this very closely the steps are being taken.
